| Beverly A. Fischer, M.D. has a passion. She believes that plastic surgery makes a profound difference in people's lives. It creates rewards for both the patient and the doctor. As one of her patients recently wrote after surgery, "I could never thank you enough...I feel normal and really good about myself." Dr. Fischer listens to her patients, she understands their needs, she feels their pain, she hugs them and she cares for them.
Dr. Fischer, a Maryland native, chose to study at Johns Hopkins because of their world renown reputation in the medical field. She believed that the broad and comprehensive training would leave no weaknesses in her skills as a plastic surgeon. She maintains her ties with Johns Hopkins with her teaching appointment as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Fischer recevied her Bachelor of Arts at Gettysburg College in biology, graduating Cum Laude in 1979. Her Doctorate of Medicine was received from Albany Medical College where she was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, an Honorary Society, for her scholastic achievements.
Dr. Fischer completed her general surgery residency at George Washington University. She elected to enroll in the six year program and was appointed chief resident in charge during her final year. She then enrolled in Johns Hopkins Plastic Surgery Residency program. |
